Le Mans is globally known primarily for the «24 Hours of Le Mans» motorsport race. However, the city possesses a much broader cultural and historical potential. The Old Town («Cité Plantagenêt») has preserved unique medieval architecture, including stone houses, narrow streets and Roman walls.
Le Mans is a significant industrial and transport hub of the Pays de la Loire region. The city has developed automotive manufacturing, food processing, scientific research and education. Thanks to high-speed rail connections, Le Mans is integrated into France’s national transport network. Festivals, theaters and historical reenactments play an important role in the city’s cultural life.
For many years, cooperation between Rostov-on-Don and Le Mans was based on regular exchanges of information and official delegations, strengthening intermunicipal ties and practical dialogue.
Considerable attention was given to educational cooperation. For example, Rostov Gymnasium No. 45 received the LabelFrancEducation quality mark for bilingual French-language education, awarded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The accompanying letter was signed by Frédéric Villome, French Attaché for Educational Cooperation. In addition, Rostov State Transport University and Le Mans University collaborated on academic exchange and educational initiatives.
A separate area of cooperation involved the sharing of experience in municipal service and the development of inbound tourism. Cultural cooperation played a key role, including exchanges of creative and theatrical groups. Professional exchanges between law enforcement agencies were also conducted, including cooperation on working with at-risk youth and preventing deviant behavior.Возврат к списку
